Psychological safety — the shared sense that it's safe to speak up, ask, admit a mistake, or challenge the plan — is the soil every other part of team performance grows in. In Google's Project Aristotle study of its own teams, it was the single most important of the five dynamics behind high-performing teams — mattering more than who was on the team.
