What this is, and what it is not
The five areas draw on established burnout research and on research about early childhood educators: Emotional Exhaustion, Disengagement, Performance Strain, Workplace Pressure, and Efficacy & Connection.
It is one person’s view of the whole team, so the result describes the pressure you are observing across your center. It cannot tell you how many staff are burned out, and it does not try to.
It has not yet been piloted or statistically tested, and the cut-offs between pressure levels are our judgment. Use it to start a conversation and choose where to act first, not to make decisions about any individual.
