Maslow’s hierarchy of needs says people can’t do their best work when basic needs go unmet. Teachers are no different. This short self-check shows which of your needs are covered right now, which are running low, and simple ways to start meeting them.

A note on this check
This is a reflection tool for starting a conversation with yourself or your team. It is not a clinical or scientific assessment. Research also doesn’t support a strict ladder where each level has to be fully met before the next one matters, so treat your results as a way to notice what’s pulling energy away from your teaching. If you’re feeling burned out or overwhelmed, talk with someone you trust or a mental health professional.
